Minister: Kiev can take $1 bln loan to buy gas from EU
KIEV, Jan 29 (PRIME) -- Ukraine is able to borrow up to U.S. $1 billion from international lenders to acquire gas from the E.U. for the off-season, Finance Minister Natalie Jaresko said in a speech to the parliament Friday.
She said that this will become possible after Kiev signs a $500 million agreement on a 5-year revolving guarantee of the World Bank. Ukraine already has guarantees for the remaining sum of the borrowing.
Jaresko also said that Ukraine expects an up to $10 billion aid from foreign partners in 2016.
